Tues Art days

I am behind on posting- this is a purse I found at the resale. The green one is the one I made. The material was difficult to sew as it was so stiff. I kept breaking needles.

Do you always have to start from scratch?

I am working on an e-book about using things you find, get in the mail, etc. on your cards. This one is a purchased note card and I add to it. Michaels, Dollar Tree, and other places like that are good sources for note cards. Target also has neat cards in their dollar section. You can beat 6-8 cards with envelopes for a dollar. I use these a lot if I am in a hurry. Sometimes I am not I just like the paper for backgrounds.

I've not done my planned art days lately. Lot of things to do. I end up with huge mess when I drag all my stuff out. I try to plan in my mind first. Sometimes that doesn't always work out. I tried a star album- I am not quite happy with it. Next time I will co-ordinate the papers better. They had ties on it- I am going to make Velcro dot closure.

Next are the cards I made. I am still learning how to take photos with the digital. I need a class.

The one with the little girl, was made with Mary Engelbriet's paper dolls. I miss her magazine.

Art days-

I've had to art days this week. For a long time I let my art slide. Winter blues, fibromyalgia, respiratory virus just hasn't been a fun winter. I love to make things- I love to give them away- I really need nothing more. Art is so relaxing, whether it is card making, drawing, doodling, journaling, or sewing. I don't understand people who don't get art- look at Creation around us. God was the Ultimate Artist.

I got together with a friend from Bible Study in her wonderful studio, I just drool at all the lovely things when I go there. She makes such unique things. She has knack of turning something unexpected into a gem. Go look at her cards- who would like getting one.

We made buttons out of fimo today- was a lot of fun. My coat has needed button. Can you imagine- I am a seamstress but my buttons fell- 2 of them- off my coat couple months ago. Shame on me.

Doing art lifts my spirits. I in turn can bless someone else.
